Paired Research

LI: to research questions about your dinosaur including their habitat, diet, predators, and protection.

For Inquiry, our task was to create a DLO of our dinosaur we have chosen. I have worked with Darius and we’ve chosed a Pachycephalosaurus. Pachycephalosaurus are described as herbivores that stand on two legs and a has a huge bump on it’s head for self defense. So we created a Google Video about this incredible dinosaur. Websites we used to find facts were Google and Gemini.

Why Maungarei sleep

Long long time ago in a land no one knew about, there lived a mountain, a very very raging and furious mountain that was in a beautiful slumber, And then one day her little brother wake  her up from from that sleep and then she was really grumpy that her little brother wake her up she started having tantrums when someone tried to talk to her she just ignored them

Her mum try to talk to her but Titi just yell at her.She was the loud, annoying and Grumpy child

Her brother and sister were always worried about her.Titi’s parents were worried about her but they just let her do whatever she wanted.Maungarei goes to sleep  because her anger finally went away she can finally rest and sleep Villagers were relieved that the volcano had fallen asleep since Maungarei had gone into a deep slumber, the villagers started to improve with fear no longer among them, Villagers remained peaceful in their evacuation spots! Now Maungarei stands beautiful and bright and A lot of people go up the mountain to take photos and hiking. People now wonder if Maungarei would ever erupt again.

Volcano Animation

this week LS2 made an animation about how volcanoes erupted we had to get in groups four or five    in our groups we all made one Google slides. we also had to use our smart searching skills to find out more about how it erupts,

It was really fun to create and something I found interesting was learning how to make the animation and making precise desions by working together as a group to make it all come together.

Samuel Marden interviewed

this week for Litreracy we have been using our Inquiry knowlege to write questions for Reverend Samuel Marsden.   and asnwer the questions that we have created. I enjoyed this activity because we had a lot of fun.

One thing that we have learnt is that when you have more expression towards what you are saying you look and sound more excited and intresting and you attract more people.

North Island Kokako

Our Year 7/8 camp was at Kokako Lodge in Hunua. Our challenge today was to use our smart searching skills to find out about the kokako bird and create an infographic to share the facts we researched in our own words.

Something I found interesting about the kokako bird was the Kokako bird live in the north island for 90 years.
